Hereva Consultants, Inc. is making it big in the world of cGMP projects for biotech companies. Hereva was formed in 2014 and focuses on owner’s representation and project consulting services to the science and technology industry. Within the last six months, Hereva has been awarded two process manufacturing facilities for local biotech innovators. Each project is in excess of 200,000 SF, putting Hereva in support of delivering over $350M in design and construction.
Managing the design and construction of cGMP facilities requires specialized knowledge. These innovators don’t have existing manufacturing facilities to copy and they are designing their facilities for the first time. Hereva’s approach includes helping lead the owner through the programming and design process, allowing for program requirements to be prioritized and managed to fit the client’s needs. This approach also allows design to move forward so the construction schedules can stay on track.
The two biotech companies are currently located in Cambridge, but leading the way in creating local manufacturing just outside the city. One company has decided to build from the ground up, allowing for total customization. The other is leasing an existing manufacturing space. For both companies, Hereva was there at the onset to assist with lease and/or contract negotiations for key members of the team. To provide the best possible value, engaging Hereva before any contracts or leases are signed offers the best approach. Hereva instantly became embedded in the project team, seamlessly engaging the customer groups, facilitating the design process, managing the budget and scheduling milestones on behalf of the client’s team.
How does Hereva do it? When the client’s own team is small, they often become outnumbered by design, construction and even landlord teams. Hereva strikes a balance for the owner to help them better strategize and protect their interests. Most importantly, the team at Hereva understands the owner’s business and the requirements for a successfully operating facility.
The love of science and innovation drives Hereva to gain a deep understanding of the client’s requirements, and to develop trusted relationships with all stakeholders. Adding value is about ensuring the success of every member of the team. Hereva strives to facilitate a sense of team work, to ensure each team has the tools they need to do their part and that all aspects of the project are considered and engaged in the process. It’s only by the success of each member of the team that the client can truly have a great project in the end.
Both projects expect to be completed in 2018, ensuring Hereva will be here to continue helping process manufacturing and biotech clients. In the meantime, several other projects are nearing completion and new clients are signing on.
